Bringing in the catch, Illocos Norte, Northern Luzon, 1978

Shipping to United States: $15.00

This is a photo taken in Ilocos Norte during a 3000 km trip thru Luzon in 1978 when I resided in the Philippines It was extremely interesting to watch as the villagers waited on shore for the birds to swarm down over a school of fish as they sent the "banca" out from the shoreline to encircle the school of fish. A villager wearing coconut goggles would then dive down and "set" the net to prevent fish from escaping. Funny story, one of my class mates offered one of villagers a snorkel and mask to accomplish his task, sadly it almost killed him as he forgot to tell him not to breath thru the snorkel when he went was the guy in the hat....The watercolor print hung in the seafood restaurant of my good friend JB, for years........Available as watercolor or b & w on Hahnemuhle Museum Etching Inkjet Paper in 8.5 x 11" or 11 x 17"
